My Journey Thus Far with MS

I was diagnosed with relapsing-remitting multiple sclerosis nine years ago. Today I feel as though I am educated about my condition. Take my advice, listen to your doctors NOW. Don't do like I did.

I waited nine years and then I started treatment. Unfortunately, I waited long enough to become disabled and I am not able to work due to cognitive loss, fatigue, muscle spasms etc. If you have MS or know someone who does, you know that symptoms differ. This is extremely difficult for someone who is independent. This change does not fit the plan I had for my life. I was, at one point, dedicated to writing. Even though my dream is still there I have to take some time to recover from the various lesions I am dealing with, in my brain and spine.

Nothing seems normal now. Everything that was strategic is now a struggle but even in this physical state I am trying to remain as positive as I can. If you have multiple sclerosis, I urge you to stay in contact with your doctors. Of course, you are …
