Stress Less...

I was researching stress the other day and I was amazed to find out what it can do to you. It can actually cause some serious damage! I am talking to worryers... I am not talking to people who take things in stride because you handle your stress well... good job. I am talking to people, especially women, like me. I am one of those people who tries her best to make my life as stress-free as possible. However, my need to make things stress-free is bringing on more stress. So I made an epiphany this week... stress less and make time for me.

There is nothing wrong with natural stress because you have to be concerned about things but just don't over do it. That's the thing. Bill comes in the mail: Right action: "Oh! I gotta add this to the budget. If I can't pay it I'm going to call and make some type of arrangement." Bad reaction: "Here we go again! Another bill I can't pay and I don't care what they do because I just can't pay it." Okay, I&…

I was in a conversation with a friend earlier and she said, "What is wrong with you Yada?" I hadn't told her anything but I guess I was wearing my emotion on my face. "I'm cool. Why you ask that?" She looked at me again. "Something is up... I'm not being nosey and I am not going to get all personal... just smile. Even if you don't feel like it... Don't let nothing weigh you down girl."
I couldn't get an attitude because she was right. The worst thing any of us can do is wear our problems on our face. Yeah, things may not be how you like it right now. You may even have a reason to frown but we can't let our problems get the best of us. Smiling is the easiest medicine you can give yourself. I went for a ride in her car and we put on some good music and she said, "Just ride and listen... maybe this will cheer you up." Before the end of the ride I was bopping and asking her to turn certain songs up. Besides...doesn'…

I am the type of person who loves hard and hurts harder. My logic was... if I do good to others they would return the favor. Well, not everybody is built that way. When you do good to some people they feel you can do better while they do nothing at all.

So I decided to do me. Ahhhhh! What a good feeling. When you decide to do you that is exactly what you are doing... You are doing what makes YOU happy. Do what advances YOU. So many times people get the best of us and we leave ourselves with what's left.

In the midst of doing us we have to sync our will with divinity. Doing us is not a license to do bad to others or to justify bad habits. It is just a way of being true to oneself. That's the only way to meet others... as the complete you... doing you. Less stress and heartache occurs when you are not looking for someone else to complete you. No more facades or being what someone else wants us to be. I posted on Twitter earlier this month that if you try to please everyone th…

I woke up this morning and nothing on my body wanted to act right. There were the regular feelings associated with MS but I didn't feel up to doing anything. I'm 29 years old to date and it felt like I was a day away from 90. I sat on the edge of the bed and murmured to myself, "Come on Q. It's Humpday... you can do this. Plus it is supposed to be nice today! The weather is gonna be great." This is the convo I had with me. Yea, sometimes I have to mentally talk to myself (not outloud cause some would call me crazy). Whatever. lol

I got the nerve up to get up... that was a huge step. I did my morning PPPPP prayer. I blogged about it earlier. It's my protective peace and productive power prayer. Leaning on the sink, I still couldn't get it together. I stood up again... "Um, God did you hear me? I really need some boost now?" Well, he did. I'm not 100% but so much better than I was in the last few days.

Excuse me, I have a tendency to rant. A…

SURVIVORS What or who is a survivor and what is the criteria to meet to become one? A survivor is defined as apersonwhocontinuestofunctionorprosperinspiteofopposition, hardship, orsetbacks. Opposition can come from a person or just a situation. What is in combat with you? What is resisting positivity or the good in your life? These are things that keep you from surviving. It doesn't want to see you override their opposition. It is in constant battle with your spirit to keep you thinking negative. Opposition doesn't want to see you survive. No MORE Sclerosis!

If you know me you are aware that I was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis in 2006. Everyday has not been great but it has been greater than my initial diagnosis. I am proud to say that God has been good to me. March is MS awareness month. You may know someone personally who has been affected by the disease. It affects more people than what's reported. Help us help those who are suffering with these complications. If you haven't donated to NMS before consider a donation this month to raise money for this worthy cause. With NMS, we fund organizations that research a cure for multiple sclerosis. Whatever you decide to donate is totally tax exempt and goes directly to charities that use your donation for the cause it was given... to promote remission. To make your tax deductible donation of any amount please visit our secure donation page at May God bless you and keep this organization in your prayers. We appreciate your supp…

I received this earlier in a chain email. I don't really do chain emails but the message was so inspiring I had to share with you... ladies in particular... take a read:

In April, Maya Angelou was interviewed by Oprah on her 70+ birthday… Oprahasked her what she thought of growing older. And, there on television, she said it was 'exciting..'Regarding body changes, she said therewere many, occurring every her breasts. They seem to be in a race to see which will reach her waist, first.

The audience laughed so hard they cried. She is such a simple and honest woman, with so much wisdom in her words!

Maya Angelou said this:
'I've learned that no matter what happens, or how bad it seems today, life does go on, and it will be better tomorrow.'

'I've learned that you can tell a lot about a person by the way he/she handles these three things: a rainy day, lost luggage, and tangled Christmas tree lights.'

'I've learned that regardless of yo…

A Business Epiphany

I write books, yeah you all know that. But I had an epiphany this week. I have been struggling with pleasing the general public with literature but I gotta be true to myself and my calling in writing. I gotta write for my ladies. I will give men the proper recognition in my books because I believe that all men are not bad... but there are some out there that teach us valuable lessons. I am writing to dissimenate not to hate... I wanna spread knowledge thru fictional books that inspire women to be the best they can be.

As I said before, the titles are racey and the content is mature but the truth is in there... and maybe you or your older daughter will be able to say, "I'm not alone!" or receive some type of inspiration that life doesn't stop when you experience negativity. It is only a catalyst for a new start.

I was reading an article last night about women and how we are made up, genetically and all. We are emotional beings and if we don't know what to do with …

Seasons Change

I was so happy to hear that the weather is going to be nice tomorrow. After having all that bad weather in the winter it feels good to know that I don't have to wear a coat to work tomorrow. I digress. That is not really the reason why I wrote this blog (not to tell you about the weather).

In life it is  good to know that seasons change. Are you in a situation where you just can't find any comfort? Are you wishing for a new era? As sure as the sun rises and sets... you can rely on a seasonal change. The church folks used to say trouble don't last always. I tend to believe that. That is what keeps me going. Tomorrow is not going to be like today if I trust God to handle it. If you stay patient... the weather of your life will change.

We gotta prepare for it though. If someone walks out here tomorrow with snow boots they are not prepared for the change. I am prepared for sunny weather in my location... spiritually and naturally.

PH and MS?

There are so many stories behind multiple sclerosis but I felt that this was worth sharing. This article discusses the PH balance of our bodies and it is really interesting. Simple things are sometimes covered so that money-making things can excel. I digress, because I could stay there for a while.
When I read this article it made me take in consideration, the comment: "We are what we eat." but even more importantly, we are "how" we eat. Check out this article about what "might" cause MS:

WHEW! Plot Development!!

Quiyada W.B. | The Proorizo Chronicles

I am working hard on this new book... All writers know that sometimes you become the character and that is the deepest part of writing. This has to be one of the most intense books that I have ever tried to pursue. Some people will flow with it but some people, as usual, will have their "you shouldn't have said that" remarks. That is the joy of self publishing. I am doing this by myself but for every woman out there who has a voice that has been muffled by life... The Proorizo Chronicles must reach deeper. Each chronicle is going to introduce you to a person that has gone through some drama but the lessons you learn from their experience will be priceless. It's not about how many books are sold but it's about how many lives are reached... I hope you enjoy reading it just as much as I am enjoying the plot development :D *Kisses*
