Is your thinking pure?

PURE THOUGHTS Still flowing in the "What are you thinking on?" series (Philippians 4:8). We're discussing pure thoughts today. Greek word for pure is hagnos meaning: 1) exciting reverence, venerable, sacred Do your thoughts excite reverence to God? When they say excite they mean: Do your thoughts arouse or stir up the emotions or feelings of reverence to God? When you think do you focus on how you can better please him or enhance your relationship with him? If not, your thoughts aren't pure. Your thoughts do not ignite worship, true worship tol God. You have to always think relationship instead of religion. When you think of your man don't you want to enhance him or show him how much you adore him. You know how we do..."Baby, you so fine! You're strong! You're the only man in my life!" When you think about God your thoughts should be pure - exciting honor and reverence to God. 2) pure a) pure from carnality, chaste, modest b) pure from every fault, imma…

Letter to my PO - Philanthropist Officer

I have so many great ideas. I have been thinking about the seminar piece and I have come up with a general idea. I want my seminars to be inspirational but I want it to focus on using inspiration in creative writing. To me writing is healing for not only the writer but the reader as well. The participants will be inspired for about a 1/2 hour and then the rest of the time I want to allow them time to write. The best writings will be considered for publication by our Board of Advisors. I will have other activities but writing has always been a love for me. It became crystal clear last night when I found out the former name for Multiple Sclerosis - disseminated sclerosis. I hope I can take you further into my vision. Sclerosis means scars. Disseminated means to scatter widey, as in sowing seed; to spread abroad; promulgate. That's what I want the nonprofit to do. I want people to use their scars- their lessons learned, and scatter it widely - be it locally, nationally or international…

Just think on "just" things...

We're focusing on the justice of God... not man. and how you can live a JUST life JUST thinkin JUST thoughts!

We have been expounding on Philippians 4:8 all week. We want to cover another thing to "think on" in our series. Whatever things are just, think on these things.

Greek- just means dikaios.

This word means:

1) righteous, observing divine laws
a) in a wide sense, upright, righteous, virtuous, keeping the commands of God
1) of those who seem to themselves to be righteous, who pride themselves to be righteous, who pride themselves in their virtues, whether real or imagined
2) innocent, faultless, guiltless
3) used of him whose way of thinking, feeling, and acting is wholly conformed to the will of God, and who therefore needs no rectification in the heart or life
a) only Christ truly
4) approved of or acceptable of God
b) in a narrower sense, rendering to each his due and that in a judicial sense, passing just judgment on others, whether expressed in words or shown by the manne…

I remember a time when I would look in the mirror and see the ugliest, fattest most unattractive person in the world. I was a size 24 and the largest I’ve ever been. I would get compliments from men but I didn’t see what they saw. Friends and family always affirmed me without request but I didn’t see what they saw either.

When I was child puberty hit me at the tender age of 9. I was in the fourth grade wearing bras while the other girls still had chests like boys….flat as a pancake. I remember being called fat back then because I was larger than the other girls. But when I look back at pictures from my childhood…I was actually a regular size kid … I just had big breasts. Like a boy with big feet whose body had to catch up to his feet, I had to catch up to my …well.. you know.

When I was a pre-teen, my body was fully developed and I got attention from older teenage boys, young adult men and older men that a young 12-13 year old girl should not be getting. …

We are still in our series of, "What are you thinking on?" We discussed yesterday the importance of thinking on true things. Today we will evaluate the purpose of thinking on honest things. This series is based on Philippians 4:8. Now before you comment like I have lost my mind...I really haven't. I know that true and honest have similar definitions in the English vocabulary. However, they have striking differences in the Greek language. The Bible was translated into our language but what was the original intent of the word honest? The Greek word for honest is semnos which means august, venerable, reverend. Let's look at these definitions in English. Whatever things that are august: No we are not talking about the fly shoes you bought this fall... this isn't a seasonal word. August means to inspire awe or admiration; majestic. Whatever causes you to be inspired... think on those things. Maybe it might be those shoes you bought but I pray you go deeper... God should…

I will post on our "What are you thinking on?" series today but I must share with you my  new favorite scripture: Ephesians 2:10 (Amplified Bible)Amplified Bible (AMP)Copyright © 1954, 1958, 1962, 1964, 1965, 1987 by The Lockman Foundation
For we are God's [own] handiwork (His workmanship), recreated in Christ Jesus, [born anew] that we may do those good works which God predestined (planned beforehand) for us [taking paths which He prepared ahead of time], that we should walk in them [living the good life which He prearranged and made ready for us to live]. What a powerful and insightful scripture text! You are God's own workmanship or handiwork. Meaning you are God's own (personal) work done by his very own hand. A designer's original. What joy to know God is your maker! You were recreated in Christ Jesus, born anew or born again. I like how explains recreated. It defines it as to refresh by means of relaxation and enjoyment, as restore physical…

Whatever things are true: The Greek word for true is an adjective named: alçthçs. It means loving the truth, speaking the truth, truthful. So let's put it in context. Whatever things that speak the truth, are truthful and are out of love for the truth - think on these things. How many of us actually take time to think on truthful things? In a world that is bombarded with gossip and negative comments we are to shun those things that are not truth. There are people who take the Word and convert it for their personal gain... shun those things. We should be adamant about speaking the truth and not lies - about our God and our neighbor. I like the first Greek definition... "loving the truth". How many of actually love the truth or do we have itching ears instead? That's worth asking. What is truth in our English dictionary? In context think on these things: the true or actual state of a matter: conformity with fact or reality; verity: the truth of a statementa verified or in…

Hmmm. I was looking at the verse featured for today and my next six or so posts are going to be based on that scripture. Phillipians 4:8, things that we should think on. I like the way God makes everything so clear in his Word. I'm not going to start posting on this subject until next week but I wanted to give you all a feel on what I was "thinking". Lets take a look at two translations, The Amplified and The Message. This is what the good people over there at "Amplified" say: For the rest, brethren, whatever is true, whatever is worthy of reverence and is honorable and seemly, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely and lovable, whatever is kind and winsome and gracious, if there is any virtue and excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think on and weigh and take account of these things [fix your minds on them]. Wow. I like that last statement... fix your minds on them. Okay. The Message, this also rolls onto verse nine. …

I am a sportsfan to the fullest and I follow coverage on ESPN but this is unacceptable. I received this email and deemed it appropriate to post.

ESPESPN and its parent company, ABC, have refused to take any action against ESPN anchorwoman Dana Jacobson for her hateful, slurring remarks against Jesus, saying "F-- -- Jesus."

On January 11, Jacobson was speaking at a celebrity roast in Atlantic City, N.J., when she unleashed a profane tirade, saying, "F--- Notre Dame," "F--- Touchdown Jesus" and finally "F--- Jesus."

"Touchdown Jesus" is the popular moniker for a statue of Jesus raising his arms, located on the Notre Dame campus.

Catholic League president Bill Donohue spoke with ESPN about the attack and received an e-mail from Jacobson which basically treated the incident as a non-event. The statement said, in part, "I respect all religions and did not mean anything derogatory by my poorly chosen words."

Jacobson's comment…

MARK 5:37-43(The Message)

He permitted no one to go in with him except Peter, James, and John. They entered the leader's house and pushed their way through the gossips looking for a story and neighbors bringing in casseroles. Jesus was abrupt: "Why all this busybody grief and gossip? This child isn't dead; she's sleeping." Provoked to sarcasm, they told him he didn't know what he was talking about. But when he had sent them all out, he took the child's father and mother, along with his companions, and entered the child's room. He clasped the girl's hand and said, "Talitha koum," which means, "Little girl, get up." At that, she was up and walking around! This girl was twelve years of age. They, of course, were all beside themselves with joy. He gave them strict orders that no one was to know what had taken place in that room. Then he said, "Give her something to eat."

Have you been there? I can say "yes" and &…

Did you complete anything in 2007?

"Grace and Peace to ALL of the New Beginners!

You should all know what I am referring to concerning the 365 days of the year 2007.

We are making our exodus from Completion into New Beginnings. I for one am excited because 2007 has been an exciting year for me and people who are connected to me. Exciting, unexpected, spiritual awakenings that has enabled us to go into 2008 "NEW"!

Don't take 2007 with you into 2008, like we took 2006 (baggage) into 2007. We span declared we were not going to; but to be honest found our selves repeating some of the same things. Don't get alarmed, this was only to show you that you needed to see what was still attached to you, get familiar with it, know its tactics, and RELEASE it! But because we didn't consult with God concerning these things WE (flesh) carried those very same issues with us and expected change... In order for something to be completed it must run its full course... it followed us because we held on.

We are about t…

To Know God is to Know Love

1 John 4:8 (Amplified) He who does not love has not become acquainted with God [does not and never did know Him], for God is love. That is strikingly true. I have been around a lot of people who profess to know God but when it comes down to the love arena they fall short. The scripture says it best! If you do not lovw you have not even become acquainted with God. You do not know him and never did know him because God is love. Now you must understand that God is not an average type of love, he's agape love - unconditional. Think about it. How many times have you did something and said, "There's no way God is going to think positive about me after that!"? I can personally say I could not grasp this love concept in the beginning. Someone as important and just as God loves me and considers me his child? Yes and he feels the same way about all of us. Everyone who has read anything I have ever written from the past until now knows that I "love" words. I took it upon…

Many people have been emailing me and asking me, "Is No More Sclerosis a publishing company?" My answer to them is 100x yessss! I have decided to self publish my own material, get my own ISBNs and have all my rights to my book... Of course that means that I have to promote my own books and market the entire thing... but hey... that's fine! I'm also looking for writers who have a desire to get the lessons of their sclerosis published... You gotta story? I got the time to listen.

Many people thought I wouldn't do it. They would say, "Quiyada, you are only in your twenties... why start a company now?" Because God said it's possible. Because it's my dream. Because I have young women to reach. I want my life to be a testimony to his goodness and I want those associated with me to be a partaker of that dream.

How about it? What a way to start a new year!

P.S. Thank you to everyone who sent me birthday wishes yesterday:)

MY LOVE FORTHE MIDDLE EAST (A personal belief post)

I have so much devotion to the Middle East. I cannot put it into words. I am committed to seeing it free. I am a Christian first and foremost and my dream is to see Abraham receive his full promise - Israel as a nation with Jesus as King. My entire thing is - the complacency the church has with the peace of the Middle East. We have become so arrogant about our faith that we forget that Israel is still in God's plans. Didn't Paul tell us that we should not be arrogant or ignorant to this fact? Romans 11:25-29 (The Message) A Complete IsraelI want to lay all this out on the table as clearly as I can, friends. This is complicated. It would be easy to misinterpret what's going on and arrogantly assume that you're royalty and they're just rabble, out on their ears for good. But that's not it at all. This hardness on the part of insider Israel toward God is temporary. Its effect is to open things up to all the outsiders so that we end up with a full house. Before it'…
